My Experience Of MacBook Pro M1 for Android programming

Apple unveiled the MacBook Pro 2020 at its One More Thing event. Apple says the M1 chip has the best CPU performance per watt and the fastest integrated graphics in the world, and demonstrates amazing machine learning performance. Cupertino residents trust the M1 to such an extent that they no longer sell the MacBook Air with the Intel chip.

If you are interested, you can check out more of this product on various sites. In this post, I am just going to write my experience of a few months and be a guide for friends who decide to buy this product.

Specifications of the macbook pro m1 I bought:

Model: 2020 MYD82

SSD: 256GB M2 NVMe PCIe
Screen size: 13.3 inch
Screen type: Retina (2560 × 1600) IPS
Has a Touch Bar: Yes
Ports: Two Thunderbolt3 ports
Has a fingerprint: Yes
Most used: Mobile programming (Android and iOS)

For other specifications such as graphics, sensors and features, refer to product introduction sites.

1. Battery charge maintenance:

So far so good. With Android Studio and all the builds that I get and Spotify and Safari and … it answered very, very well. The advice I can give you here is that in order not to increase your battery cycle, constantly charge the laptop and once a week, run out of battery and recharge. At night, always unplug your electronics.

2. Screen size:

I can say in one word perfect! High resolution, with its light adjustment, you can easily work without a monitor, but even if it is 16 inches, without a monitor is not recommended.

3. Ram Usage:

Developers know that Android Studio does not work optimally in terms of resources, especially RAM, and the available stable version is optimized for the Intel CPU and is actually a bit of a problem for the Apple silicone m1. Slowly, you will experience having a lag, the solution of which is to install the preview version for m1.

Install next to the table. So far I have not had any problems with this version and it just works much smoother and better and your project will build in a few seconds. Next to it, Spotify and Safari are always open. When I bought this product, tail 16 was not available in market.

There is no problem for iOS programming, but in Android programming, you will face the problem of making avd, which has a solution:

but I have a physical device and I always preferred it. In practice, your RAM consumption will be very, very optimal with these items.

4. Ports:

It has two Thunderbolt3 ports, one for the hub and the other for charging. Which are located on the left. You will also see a Jack Handsfree on the right.

5. Speakers:

They have a very high quality sound. I attend meetings without a headset and the sound quality is still excellent.

6. Bluetooth:

With the Xiaomi and Samsung headset, easily paired.

I hope you have a good experience using this product and share it with us.

Thanks for reading! And if you enjoyed it, gimme a clap
